Blessing #2: The Great Outdoors

So I haven't done so well on this posting a blessing once a week thing. I still think it is a great idea, but I was sort of a slacker the past three weeks, so I will try and do better. Kyle and I went on a little hike this past weekend up Cottonwood Canyon. It was so beautiful with all the leaves changing colors. I am so grateful that we can enjoy the mountains that are so close by and the outdoors.
A hiking we will go!

The Tragic Tale Of The Running Shoes

Once upon a time there lived a very happy pair of running shoes. These shoes ran every single day for more than an hour at a time, sometimes two hours. The shoes ran through the woods, at the gym, in the park, and sometimes around the USU track. The shoes owner was in tip top, excellent shape. She never neglected the running shoes, nor did she promise to take the shoes for a run then break her promise. She even ran a marathon in a decent time, without dying. She even lost a little weight. All in all, the running shoes were content as could be and they never complained.

Then, the owner of the shoes graduated from college and began working full-time at a very stressful, new job. The owner began to ignore the shoes, taking them out only two or three times a week. The shoes began to feel sad, but still grateful the owner took them to the gym sometimes. Then, the owner got married. The shoes noticed that the owner was still in okay shape, but not like before. No, and that little bit of weight she lost, it was back. The shoes began to feel lonely and lied to. Then one beautiful summer morning, the owner ran a 5K after only taking the shoes out a couple times a week for the past few months. Boy were the running shoes excited about that 5K. Tragically, the running shoes were bored the entire race, falling in and out of sleep, thinking, "why is my owner running in slow motion and why is she breathing so hard?" The shoes became concerned. Now the running shoes are just ticked off.

The End.

I'm kind of getting annoyed at how true this story is. This is getting ridiculous and has to stop. I have made some SERIOUS running and exercise goals. I'll keep you updated on how I'm doing.

"Biggest Loser" Coming Next Tuesday!

Make fun of me all you want, but I love this show. It's my favorite. I didn't miss a single episode last season and I don't plan on missing one this season. I don't know what it is about watching overweight people workout until they are blue in the face and eventually thin that brings me so much joy. I love it. I love it. I love it. But seriously, I just think it's amazing to see these people change. They are so much more happy when they are healthy! That's all.

Count Your Many Blessings

So I am completely stealing this idea from my friend, Stephanie's blog. Hope she doesn't mind, but I thought it was a great idea, plus it gives me something to blog about since I'm not so good at keeping it updated. So every Sunday I am going to name a blessing...really I have a million blessings and things I'm thankful for, so I shouldn't run out of blessings:) So here goes blessing #1...

I'm thankful for sisters! I have four of them from the Krogh family and two sister in-laws. I am the middle in age of my sisters, and let's be honest, they are the best. They are definitely my closest friends and are always there for me.

RASBERRY DAYS WEEKEND AT BEAR LAKE

Every Summer Bear Lake has a "Raspberry Days" Weekend where it's kind of just a big party a Bear Lake. They have a big parade, fair, fireworks and tons of other activities, we had a great time!
THE PARADE

Waiting for the parade to start....

JET SKIING!

"It's okay Kyle, don't be scared, you can do it" :)

...actually Kyle was far from scared on a jet ski...he drove like a maniac. I think his favorite game was "let's see how many times we can throw Ruth off" I thought I might die.

Tayia and I at the lake.

5K RACE

Pre-race game faces. This is us trying to look tough before the big race, Dad didn't get the memo.

Post-race picture. I'm holding a number one sign up because of course, I took first place. Okay, so I wasn't even close to taking first place, but it was still fun.

Dad and Jared placed in their age groups. Good Job you guys! Hey I won free socks from a drawing after the race, I am a winner dang it. I'm not bitter.

NOW THIS IS FUNNY....
Let's just end this post on a funny note. Is this not the weirdest sleeping position? Poor Kyle was pooped out from a long day at the beach. We got a good kick out of how he was sleeping with his hands so properly clasped together. What were you dreaming about honey?

MONTANA AND YELLOWSTONE

We spent last week in Montana and Yellowstone! Kyle did his internship a few summers ago at Stillwater Mine near Nye Montana, and wanted to go back and visit and of course I was all for it. Wow, Montana is so so beautiful, I never knew and I think it's pretty much my favorite place now. We did some amazing hikes, went fishing, and camping, it was great. We spent the last two days in Yellowstone mostly watching all the wildlife. I SO wanted to see big grizzly bears, but we only saw a little black bear from afar:( We saw a ton of other wildlife though. Overall, an awesome vacation! Oh yeah, and how could I forget. On the way to Montana we stopped in Blackfoot and went to the Potato Museum. That's right, a potato museum, and it was fascinating! No really, it was. I recommend it to anyone who ever feels like learning everything there is to know about potatoes:) Here are some pictures of our trip!
I met a family that Kyle got to know over the summer while doing his internship at Stillwater. We stayed one night at the Von Neida's home and they are such a great family! We had fun just visiting and eating dinner. I'm excited to come back to Montana to see them again, thanks Von Neida's!

I fell in love with their dogs, Zorro and Patches, they were fun.
