June Happenings

I can't believe June has almost come and gone.

We've just been chillin' and hanging out around here, nothing too exciting. I'm glad it has
finally warmed up, for heaven's sakes.
(Weston loves the 'photo booth' feature on our computer. He just stares at it and 'perma-grins'...)

Last week we went to the Aerospace Museum in Layton and then lunch at the Red Robin for my mom's birthday.
Wes and the birthday girl.
I don't mean to brag, but doesn't my mom look A-mazing for her age. (I know she wouldn't like the idea of me reveling her age on my blog, but she doesn't look a day past 40...:)
Nate, Kara, and Val came too!
Weston wouldn't hold still for a single group picture. This is the best I got.
He loved the planes and called them all "gucks" (trucks).
Look at my handsome pilot!
A couple weeks ago we went to Liberty Park. They have a cool little wading area
and Weston and his cousin Will loved it.
And that's about it for June. I'm so glad summer is finally here!

Two wonderful Daddies

Kyle is an outstanding father. Even better than I imagined when I married him. I am so blessed.
My dad is equally as wonderful and an amazing example to me. I love my dad.
Happy Father's Day!

No turning back.

I signed up for the SLC half marathon and I'm so excited. I love running. It's kind of my "me time." It's hard for me sometimes to get out the door and keep a good running schedule, but once I do, I'm addicted. I really wanted to do the Top of Utah in Logan but when I went to sign up it had filled up the previous day. I was bummed, but this one should be fun too. It's Sept. 3rd so hopefully I'll be good and ready by then.

It just wasn't his week...

Weston had a rough week of incidences.

Incident # 1-Peanut Allergy
Weston sported the "quasi modo" look a few nights ago due to eating just a finger dab of peanut butter. Unfortunately, he is allergic to peanuts. Awesome. PB &J's are nearly the most convenient kid's meal ever and so many things have peanuts as an ingredient. The doctor said sometimes peanut allergy gets better and goes away, but sometimes it sticks around. We can only hope for the first senerio.

Incident # 2-
No pictures for this one. I didn't have my camera handy. I locked Weston in the car in the Target parking lot. I'm still waiting for my "mother of the year award" on this one.  I freaked out and ran into target to use their phone while my cell phone sat peacefully inside the locked car. More inconveniently, I didn't have my husbands phone number memorized.  He is my # 1 speed dial, yet I don't know his phone number by heart. Go figure. Long story short I called the police and they pulled up along with a big fire truck. I was beyond embarrassed. Luckily, Weston was fine and just reading his book and smiling out the window.

Incident # 3- A stuck finger.
Um, yeah so let me explain this picture. Last night Weston thought it would be fun to shove his whole finger in one of the holes in the bath toy container. I don't know how he fit it through in the first place! We couldn't get it out and tried and tried as he screamed his little head off. It was so sad.
Good thing Daddy is good with tools.
 The only solution.
Poor little guy. I hope we have a better time this coming week.

Buddies

Weston thinks his older cousin Nate is the coolest person ever. Probably because he is, but Weston just loves him to death and will not leave him alone for a minute when he is around. He follows him, laughs at him, copies him, and will yell really loudly to get his attention.

Nate sure has a way of making Wes smile.

I think Nate may get a little irritated sometimes....:)
But Nate puts up with him and is so nice to Wes.
They are buddies.

He will even follow Nate and grandma out into the muddy, freezing cold lake.
That's how much he loves him. He fell down in the mud shortly after this picture was taken but didn't seem to care. This boy LOVES the water.

The old man turned 28

Kyle's birthday was last Tuesday. Wow, I am way behind. He is 28! I love that we are the same age for about a month, but I still have him beat by 11 months:) We had a joint birthday party/barbeque for him and my little nephew who turned 2.

Geez Kyle, try and contain your excitement please that it's your birthday.
There we go, there's a smile. Sort of:) Isn't he handsome though, I mean seriously.
The birthday boys!
The cake.
Cousins.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLE!
