Just Some Funny Things

Weston has been doing some funny things lately. He makes me laugh on a daily basis. He is rather stubborn and wants to be more and more independent, but has a such a sweet side to him too. I have been teaching him that hitting is wrong and not acceptable. I don't know but out of no where he has started to hit me and I'm not sure if it's him just wanted to get my attention or what, but he goes to time out. I taught him that he needs to be "soft" and show him what soft is. Now right after he hits he puts his hand and softly rubs my face saying "saaa, saaa" in a high pitched voice.  Whenever he sees something cool or a big truck he will say "Woooah!", he LOVES playing hide and seek but doesn't quite get "hiding" yet so when it's his turn to hide he will just lay down on the floor and burry his face in the ground. Last night at my indoor soccer game he sat with Kyle in the stands and yelled "MOM, MOM, MOM, MOM, MOM, MOM, MOM" very loudly for about 10 minutes straight while I was playing.

These are just some funny things I want to remember. I love being a mom, although challenging at times, he is teaching me patience and love. Love this little guy!

Toy Box Project

A few months ago I found these old toy boxes at the D.I. for $5 dollars each! I've wanted to get Wes some toy boxes but I couldn't find any for less than $100, they are expensive little buggers and I'm cheap so....

A little sanding, primer and white paint that we already had, some new hardware, and cute lettering from Hobby Lobby made them much cuter.  I ended up spending about $15 total in the end. The bottom one has a little dent on the side top part which is waiting for a fixing from my handy husband, but who knows when that will
get done....so they are mostly done:)

Bear Lake Trip

The week after the fourth we went to Bear Lake and spent a few days up there. But first we
stopped in Logan to meet this little beauty.
My youngest sister had her first baby and it kind of makes me feel really old...:) Anyway, her name is Avery and I could have held her all day long, she is so darling.
Next stop, Bear Lake. I love Bear Lake. Growing up in Logan I have so many fun
memories of this place.
I couldn't believe how high the water was! There was zero beach which was kind of a bummer, but we walked down to the Lake anyway.
Then we went swimming in the pool. Wes had fun, but tired of it quickly.
Sitting on the cool chair wrapped up like a burrito was much more fun for him than
swimming in the pool.
Then we went on a hike.
 And did some exploring...
 Just enjoying the scenery.

The Buzz Cut

Every little boy needs a summer buzz cut in my opinion. We (Kyle) gave Weston his first buzz cut and I think we went a little short because he sort of looks like an oversized newborn now. His hair is so thin and light he looks bald but I think it is ADORABLE anyway and it's much more manageable!
The only way to get this busy body to hold still was to give him a yummy treat.
All done!

The Fourth of July

The fourth of July was spent in Fillmore this year. Every year the Emmett extended family goes on a four-wheeling trip and it is always a good time. Kyle grew up riding four-wheelers. It seems to be a big part of his childhood and family outings and I am more than happy to marry into such a fun activity:) Weston really enjoyed himself. We put his carseat in one of the rangers and took him on the whole trip! I was a little nervous that he wouldn't last or he would get bored from sitting so long, but he loved it! He probably said the word guck (truck) about 200+ times during the ride. So funny.
 On the road.

Taking a pit stop.
My little biker dude.

The next morning we went to the parade and saw even more "gucks"
Grandpa Turner, Weston, and I waiting for the parade to start.
 "Look, it's a "guck":)
Fireworks were also lots of fun. Weston was crying 'cuz I made him hold still for a picture heaven forbid. So this was the best pic I could get of all three of us. He wore himself out running around in the park before the fireworks started he could barely stay awake during the show. Fillmores fireworks are awesome! They are also kind of close, like maybe unsafely close, but that added to the excitement I guess:) Gotta love them small towns:)

What happened to my baby?

I was looking through old baby pictures of Weston and I can't believe how much he has changed.
Here he is at just 6 months old.
He is now 18 months and is a very active little boy with loads of energy and personality.
Some things about this little guy....
*Weight: 24 lbs (34%tile)
*Height 35 in (97%tile)
* He is ALL boy. He loves big trucks (gucks) and really anything with wheels. He loves to run fast and jump and climb on everything. He is fascinated with bugs and usually ends up squishing them.
* He can say about 12 words total but has his consistent 4 (gucks (trucks), naks (snacks), no, go, and uh oh)
*Very good at throwing fits, but is happy a lot of the time.
*Has found the joy in eating snacks "naks" (crackers mostly) and has become way picky with real food.
*Has become shy around strangers and a little clingy around his mommy.
*Curious.
*Has a smile that completely melts your heart.
*Handsome
*Loves the game hide and seek.
*Not a fan of sitting still for more than 2 minutes.
*Still likes to get into everything and figure out how things work.
* Can point to most things if we ask him where things are and knows most of his body parts.
*Loves to push his little wheelbarrow around the yard and help with yard work.
*We love him so much!
