Thanksgiving happened

I'm a little late with this post but Thanksgiving came and went and we had a great time.
We spent the weekend with the Emmett's in Fillmore. These two ladies are the best cooks ever:)
It was fun to see Jeff again.
A good majority of Thanksgiving day consisted of playing with Jeff and Kyle's old Legos. I think Kyle and Jeff had more fun with them than anyone. Weston loved them too though.
Then we went over to grandpa Turners and saw the horses.
Weston was not thrilled, and little scared of them.
And what would a trip to Fillmore be without shooting stuff...
Go JhoBrea, go JhoBrea...
Taking a walk with great grandpa.
All in all, a really fun Thanksgiving!

Getting Cold

I am so not ready for winter.
Yesterday we took advantage of the "warmer" weather and went on a walk.
Stopping every second to pick up leaves, sticks, and rocks of course.

Weston's Photoshoot

This is my sorry attempt at photography and editing:)  I took some pics of Weston in Logan and I think they turned out pretty cute. How did I get such a cute kid??

Moab Getaway

Last weekend we dropped Wes off at his grandparents and spent a few days in Moab. It rained on us Saturday morning, but the rest of the weekend was "jacket weather", but pretty nice.
First hike of the day was Delicate Arch. We were soaked by the time we got up there.
I love hiking. It was such a nice break to be outside and see all the sites. Arches is a pretty remarkable place. I've always loved it.
We saw some other arches too. Double arch.
 and the Window Arches.
Then we headed over to the canyon lands which was also very beautiful.
 (He's pondering....)

 Canyon-lands.
It was such a fun trip.

Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year, full of games, family, and goodies. We attended the annual Krogh Halloween party at my sister Katie's home in Logan. Weston was so cute in his little firefighter costume.

I have never been the type to get really excited to dress up for Halloween. This years ensemble was a last -minute search through my mother's Halloween bin resulting in a "baby" costume. Oh my goodness. I can't believe I'm posting a photo of myself in an adult onsie. My mother told me that she actually wore this yellow beauty to bed every night when she was 13 years old. I got a crack out of that. Speaking of cracks, she must of been a lot shorter than I at thirteen because the onsie was riding up mine for the duration of the party. Just a mild wedgie, but nothing to ruin the fun of the party.
Kyle was "white trash".
Other costumes included, witch and doctor.
Princess Leah.
baseball player, scary person in black, candy land,
little cowboy, more candy land characters, and a butterfly.  The donut eating contest was a hit.
As well as all the other fun games we played.

 The babies.
On Halloween night we took Weston around the neighboorhood for trick-or treating. As soon as he realized he was getting loads of candy he was running door to door.

Sister Time!

We spent all of last week in Arizona visiting my sister and her two adorable kids. I know Wes was so happy to have someone to play with every single day. My other sister came too with her little girl so it was fun to all spend time together.

It was Weston's first plane ride. I think I was overly nervous about taking him on a plane. I thought he would get a little anxious confined to sitting on my lap the whole time, but he actually did really well.  He kept saying "TRUCK, TRUCK...WOAAH" although I tried to teach him we weren't on a truck we were on an airplane. He still thought it was cool.

Here we are just before take off. He had a sucker so he was all good:)

Once we got to Arizona we did all sorts of fun things.
We went to the zoo.

 Hung out at the park.
Smashed water balloons out on the deck and played outside.

Played with babies Claire and Avery.

And other events that were not documented with photos.... just hung out and talked, played egyptian rat-killer, ate lots of yummy food, went to a really cool ghost-town, went to the mall, did a couple crafts, just relaxed, watched a movie, and cooked yummy dinners.
It was so fun to spend a week with my sisters.

Little guy update

Weston is almost 22 months and has changed so much over the past couple months. He loves to play with his trucks, run around the house with his dinosaurs yelling "roooooar!", jump up and down, climb all over the furniture, read books, especially nursery rhymes, and carry his teddy bear around. Weston's language is coming along slowly but surely. He just began to say two word phrases like "up-down!", "my turn", "hi mom", "hi dad", "thank you" and "neat truck!" He still loves his "nacks" (snacks) and loves to eat any kind of meat, especially hotdogs and sausage, but not a fan of milk. (unless it has chocolate in it of course:)

Sharing seems to be difficult for him right now, but he is learning. He loves to run, and is pretty fearless, and a little clumsy (not really a good combination.) Sitting in one spot for more than a minute is not his thing, he is an active little guy. Weston definitely learns by watching, he loves to just watch other kids and people wherever we go. He is shy around strangers at first, but pretty wild around us:)

I love being Weston's mom. It is challenging at times. Sometimes I feel like I'm living with caveman or a foreign exchange student 24/7.  It's frustrating when he is still learning to communicate and at times I don't understand what he wants or is trying to tell me. I have learned that I am not very patient and I have to just take a breath when he throws fits or fights me with something. I know he is learning to be independent and I'm trying my best to help him learn and grow, and discipline him at the same time. He is such a great kid though, I couldn't ask for a better boy. I love him so much.
