Zinnias and funny faces

When we planted our Zinnias in the spring we had no idea they would get so big! They are beautiful but some are already starting to die. Sad:( Looks like fall is here...
We cut off some dead ones and are saving the seeds so we can plant them again next year.
Weston loved his job of putting them in the baggy and watching daddy cut them off.
Such a big helper.
Later that night I attempted to get some cute pictures of Wes. He rarely smiles in a picture unless he is distracted or something really fun and exciting is going on behind the camera. If it's just me taking his picture I usually get one of these five reactions...
He is so busy.
I can't believe how big he looks here! He is growing so fast.

The Fam

The Krogh Klan got together over Labor Day weekend and took some family pictures. It was quite entertaining getting 11 children to sit still long enough to take a picture, but I think they turned out great.
I love my family. I love that there are lots and lots of us. I love that I have 4 sisters and that I am the middle in age of all of them! They are my greatest friends and supporters. And my brother, well, he is my favorite brother.
Oh wait, he is my only brother, but he is pretty awesome too.
Girls rule...
Boys drool...!

I love our family parties. I love that we are competitive and kind of loud when we are together. I love that my brother still picks on his sisters. (in a loving way) I love that we play basketball when we get together for Christmas and it gets a little intense. (usually someone gets hurt.) I love that we play cards, games, have fun traditions,  and go all out on holidays.
I love my parents. They are funny, and kind of cool. I love that my mom will borrow her daughters clothes. She is so stylish. I love that she goes on walks every single morning, and hikes around the neighborhood. I love to go with her. I love that my dad calls all his girls "doll", and when he dances like a total nerd. I love his kindness and his wisdom.

I love my family, can you tell?
I am so lucky.

Animal Abuse?

I stole these pictures directly from my mother-in-laws blog, (thanks Barb:) because little funny memories like this need to be recorded. I have been horrible at taking pictures lately.
Every time we go to Fillmore and visit grandma and grandpa Emmett, Weston spends a good majority of the day torturing this poor cat. They have a few cats but Weston seems to be fond of this one in particular and includes her in all of his activities. He takes their relationship very seriously as noted in his facial expression above... He likes to take her on rides, carry her around, (usually by the neck), chase her around the yard, squeal at her, grab her tail, and throw her on peoples laps. Kitty must like Weston too, because she amazingly takes the abuse and doesn't even try to escape.
Here you go great grandpa.
And just some other pictures. Wes loves all the "trucks" at grandma and grandpas house too!

13.1

I did it! A couple weekends ago I ran the Salt Lake Half Marathon. I didn't quite make my goal time, but I enjoyed it and I finished at 1:53. I really wanted to finish under or at 1:48ish, which was what my training pace had been. I felt SO good the first 10/11 miles, but the last two I slowed down my pace quite a bit. The longest I had run in training was 10.5 miles so that probably had something to do with it. I think next time I will be sure to run the whole 13 before the race. My body kind of shut down at the end of mile 10 and I really just had to push it to the end. I did run the entire race however so I'm proud of that and for being under 2 hours.

I think most people would think I am crazy saying this, but this race was kind of refreshing for me.  It was such a beautiful course, although uphill the first 4 miles which was a surprise to me. (not cool). After that it winded down Immigration Canyon and ended up by the U of U. I didn't sleep much the night before, and I was so nervous about it. I was really stressed just with life and other things the week prior so it felt really good just to be running and clear my mind. I love the outdoors and I love exercise so when these two things are combined I couldn't be happier. One thing I've learned through sports and exercise is that you can really push and train your body to do just about anything. It feels so good to accomplish something like this.

Look at the cutie who met me at the finish line. My biggest fan. Of course he wouldn't look at the camera. And oh boy, sorry for the ugliness of myself. (I'm not one of those girls who still looks perfect and put together after running
13 miles..how is that possible, I don't get it)

Summer Photos and Happenings

I can't believe how fast this summer has flown by. The past few weeks have been fun
trying to take advantage of the warm weather.
We went to Bear Lake again.
The lake was so full and beautiful!
 We went swimming.
Funny thing about Weston. He LOVES glasses of any kind. He is always putting on our sunglasses and walking around with them. He even puts them on top of his head (like mommy does.) Anyway, he got a kick out of his cousins swim goggles. He wanted to wear them around even though he couldn't see a thing.
We went to feed the ducks.

 and see some animals.
Oh, and I chopped my hair off!  I needed a change.

We visited the Thanksgiving Pointe Gardens.
I had no idea how big these gardens were and so beautiful! I was pleasantly surprised.
They had a cute little kids garden too with a wading pool. Weston loved it.
Well, that's what we've been up to these last few weeks.  I have to admit I am a little ready
for it to cool down and for some fall weather.

Wheeler Farm

We spent the afternoon at Wheeler Farm the other day with some cousins. I love Wheeler Farm. It was a little hot, but we enjoyed seeing all the animals.
Weston has some pretty cool cousins.
We saw some cute little ducklings.
and some cool "gucks" (trucks/tractors) too.
Nate and Stacia.

Pre-arranged Marriage

My friend Katey has a little girl only a week younger than Weston. We have already decided that they will have to get married when they are older.
Norah is so adorable and I'm so happy we were able to hang out. I think Norah will wear the pants in this relationship....Wes had a hard time sharing and I think felt a little jealous when I showed attention to her. Sensitive little boy.  They got a long better the second half of the day:)
