Ducks and Icecream Cone
We spent last weekend in Logan. I love going home. My mom's cooking is delicious and my parents always make us feel so welcome and we always have fun. They volunteered to watch Wes while Kyle and I went on a date to the Bluebird and a movie Friday night.
On Saturday we decided to get rid of a bag of rolls that had gone stale and feed the ducks at first dam.
We bundled up and had a great time. )

Weston kept his distance most of the time until the ducks went back in the water. He followed them and was a bit frustrated when I wouldn't let him go swimming with them.
I can hardly ever get a good smile out of this boy when taking his picture. He is smiling and as soon as I pull the camera out he pulls the 'worried deer in headlight look.'
And the best part of the trip, at least for Weston, is that he tried his very first ice cream cone.
Of course he loved it, who doesn't love ice cream?

Love the groundhog
This morning the groundhog did NOT see his shadow!
Well, that brings a positive note to the current freezing temperatures.
That's right. It means an EARLY SPRING.

That is if you believe in the groundhog theory, which I certainly do, and I watch the big event every year on the online Washington Post. Hardly ever miss it.
Yep, I'm a dork like that.

oh winter (sigh)
A few days ago we took advantage of the warmer weather and played outside for a little bit.
It was a nice change from being inside almost everyday, all day. Growing up in Logan you would think I've adapted to the winter months. Just the opposite is true. I am so not a winter person. I try hard not to be one of those ornery people who complain about the cold and winter, but I fail miserably. I am not immune to the "winter blues" by any means, and at the end of the day I just want to run to the nearest tanning salon. (Not that I would do that consistently, I don't want wrinkles), but I'm definitely one of those people who needs sunshine and vitamin D!
Wes and I will try to endure it, but we are going stir crazy:) Hopefully there will be some warmer days here and there, from now until springtime.
Weston is such a boy. He went straight for the dirt and rocks and all the unfinished parts of our backyard. Yet another reason to look forward to spring is that we are going to landscape our yard! Finally:)

One Year Stats
I realize that I blog a little too much about this little dude, and not much else.
He is my life though, and can you blame me?
He is just too cute.
We took him in for his one year appointment and everything looked great.
Weight: 21.5 lbs (28%tile)
Height: 31.5 in. (78%tile)
Head 21 in. (95%tile)
This is what he is up to these days;
Walking, almost running.
Eating a lot better. His favorites are cheese, peas, yogurt, animal crackers, bananas, and chicken.
Loves water and his sippy-cup.
Has a serious "perma- grin"
Very curious about everything and points at everything.
Very strong and active.
Refuses to hold still during a diaper change, or during church:)
Has 8 teeth, plus 3 molars!
Loves his stuffed animal 'puppy'
Almost off the bottle.
Taking two naps a day.
Loves to play hide and seek.
No words yet (besides 'mama' and occasionally 'dad'), but he sure loves to sing and babble.

Birthday Boy
We had a birthday party for Weston last weekend. He was a little overwhelmed at first from all the people and singing, but then he tasted the cake and had a great time! All of my family came up Wednesday to celebrate. Grandma and grandpa Emmett and aunt Amy came up Saturday and we had another little party for him. He loved all his fun gifts and spending time with them.
