CAMPING!

This weekend we went camping. We originally wanted to go to Maple Grove by Richfield. It's a beautiful campground and we were so excited. Unfortunately we got there on Friday night and the campground was packed, and there was not a single campsite open:( So instead we decided to go to Holden canyon (right by Fillmore) and there wasn't a single person there! We laughed about the fact that we were camping about 8 minutes away from Kyle's parents house, but it all worked out cuz we went to the Ute Stampede Rodeo the next day in Nephi, which was way fun. Anyway, we didn 't take a ton of photos, just one of my cute husband making a fire:) It was so nice to get away and relax in the mountains, even though Kyle had me scared the whole time saying that there were bears that usually came down to this particular campground. And of course I believed him... (That was mean Kyle.)

Fourth of July Weekend

Hope everyone had a great fourth! We sure had a great time this weekend in Fillmore. On Saturday we went on a very long four wheeling ride. We all got pretty sunburned. Friday we went to the Fillmore parade and then over to the festivities at the park. Friday night we swung over to Delta and hung out with Suz and Clark at the Demolition Derby and then watched the fireworks! All in all, a pretty fun weekend.

Even though I don't have kids of my own, I certainly make sure that I show off my cute nieces and nephews:) We just got a new one a few days ago, Karalee and she is so adorable. We went over on Sunday to see her for the first time and took some pictures, so here they are.

HAPPY 6 MONTH ANNIVERSARY!

Well, today is our 6 month anniversary and time sure does fly! I've loved every day of being married to such an amazing person. Six months down, and eternity to go:) I love you Kyle.

A very overdue post...

I've been meaning to post these pictures for about three weeks now, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm beginning to wonder who has time to blog anyway? I just received an email from my sister who said I need to blog more. I'll be better, I promise. A few weekends ago, Kyle and I went up to the High Uintah's and hiked around a bit. It was fun, but talk about cold! I had forgotten several times during the trip that we were in the beginning of June! It felt more like February, but that's Utah weather I guess. There was still snow up there, so we couldn't hike as far as we wanted. Nonetheless, it was a fun adventure and we took some cute pics!

Just a thought or two......

Kyle and I made a trip to Logan this weekend to visit the family. I have two inspiring thoughts that came from this weekend getaway. (okay, maybe not so inspiring, maybe just random and important to me.) I just have to say that Logan is the most peaceful, beautiful city in the world. Okay, so I may be bias, BUT, what I am trying to say is that after living in the "big city" (Salt Lake), and experiencing the apartment living lifestyle, where you look out your window to traffic and five Mcdonald's on one block. (so unhealthy people), I have come to appreciate the "not so big" towns. Yes I have even succumbed to the idea that living in Fillmore, Utah, my husband's home town (population of 2,253...more cows than people, if you know what I mean), would really be an ideal place to live. Why? PEACE. QUIET. NO TRAFFIC. SPACE. NATURE. Seriously though, I believe I have taken for granite the luxury of just walking outside and going for a run up the canyon or to a nearby park. Yes, smaller towns have their downfalls, but the pros definitely out weigh the cons. In conclusion, I believe I have learned over the past 4 months that I am not so much a "city girl" as I may have previously believed.

Second thought. Sunday morning, I was looking through some old journals of mine in my parents house. Inside a notebook only five pages full (a journal I attempted to "start", but lost ambition to do so, I seem to have a lot of those), was a paper that I remember filling out in a Young Women's class when I was about a Junior in High School. On the top it read, " My plans for the next ten years....where will I be" As I read it, I chuckled to myself for two reason. I laughed at how detailed it was first of all (including everything I wanted in my future husband, down to hair color and all). Second, I laughed because boy was I WAY OFF! It went something like this...

1. Graduate from High School.
2. Go to BYU Hawaii for a year.
3. Come home, go to college in Salt Lake for nursing.
4. Meet my husband, get married when I turn 21.

Then I precede to write what my husband will be:
returned missionary
Business man.
about 6'3 and blonde
graduated from college, 26 years old.

5. Start a family, have 6 kids.

Well, didn't quite make it to BYU Hawaii, got married 4 years later than I'd planned,I hate needles so I'm a little confused as why I wanted to be a nurse, definitely didn't marry the first, second, thrid guy I dated, (thank heavens), threw in a mission before #4, and I have yet to bare children.....

I guess my "inspiring thought" is that sometimes we get something totally different then what we plan, but that it turns out to be perfect for us. It seems everyone likes to "bear their testimonies" on these blogs (still getting use to blogging thing), about their spouses, but seriously. My husband is the BEST. I couldn't imagine having married anyone else. And I'm glad I had to wait for him because he was definitely worth it. On top of that, it gave me time to grow and learn, I'd never trade serving a mission for anything because of what I learned. For me, I couldn't have learned any other way. And before this gets any cheesier, (tear) and plus I'm at work and suppose to be working, I will end this. The end.

A weekend at Bear Lake

Last weekend my family had a big get together at our cabin in Bear Lake. It was so fun to have the whole family there and especially to see my little sister Susan. She lives in Vegas and I don't see her very often:( We also celebrated Kyle's birthday! It was a great weekend. The lake was too cold to swim in but we still had fun playing on the beach and of course, eating lots of food. Here are some pics of the weekend.
