Dear Cold sore virus,
I really really really dislike you and I think you should know. You are so annoying. You hang around when you are not welcome, and you make me extremely uncomfortable. You come when I ask you so kindly not to come. You are stubborn as ever, and I think you should take a hike and never ever come back. You embarrass me most of the time and I can't stand to look at you. Boy are you ugly and mean. I have put up with you since I was a child, but now I have had it with you. Please do not respond to this letter. I never want to see you again. Ever.

Um, do you think that was too harsh? I have used this stuff before for cold sores but nothing else. It works so, so.... does anyone know of anything else that works? (That is if this hate letter doesn't work:)

I hear you on this one. I think you could have been a little meaner in the letter...I mean come on. Its a nasty cold sore. Anyway you should totally try this Lysing chapstick that they sell at the health food store. It works for me! My cold sores are not bad when I start using this stuff right when I feel one coming. If you want the official name let me know and I'll find it for you.
I totally understand how you feel about cold sores. I have gotten them ever since I was a little girl. I take the Valtrex pills. They seriously work wonders. I take them right when I feel a cold sore coming on and then next thing you know it doesn't even show up at all. Sometimes if I wake up with a little one a take a pill and it's gone with in a few days. And when I get a cold it doesn't get big at all. You need a prescription for Valtrex. I love these pills and I seriously can't live without them!
Oh both Phill and I get them and I HATE them. Can I copy and paste your letter and send it from me! haha The Valtrex pills are awesome just like Meghan said. They work wonders!

Hey Ruth, this is Claire from LHS. So random I found your blog and even more random that I'm commenting on cold sores, but I understand your pain. Ugh! They're annoying. Anyway, you need to get Valtrex!! It works SO good! I haven't had a cold sore in over a year since I used it, so it treats them and prevents them, I think. It's a prescription and kind of pricey if you don't have insurance, but totally worth it. Anyway, fun to run into your blog. Good luck!
