A Fun Weekend

This past Friday was my birthday. I'm 28 years old now. If I am doing the math correctly that's only 2 years away from the big 3-0. YIKES. I'll try not to think about that. Instead I will focus on the fun weekend I had and the fact that I'm still young enough to do all these fun things. We spent the weekend in Fillmore. We were planning on going
there on the weekend of the 4th but Weston came down pretty sick so we ended up staying home. Kyle and I were sad we missed out on the fun and four-wheeling so we made the trip down on Friday. Kyle brought me these beautiful flowers when he came home from work.
On the way to Fillmore we stopped at my favorite restaurant, Red
Robin and I ordered my favorite, the barbeque chicken wrap. I order the same thing every time despite Kyle's criticism that I'm boring and need to try something new. But why? It's the BEST dish ever...and those fries are to die for. Mmmmmm. .

Well folks, my sister in-law has far exeeded my cooking abilities and made this pretty awesome cake. She knows how much I love fruit so she made one with about every single fruit you can imagine on top. YUM!!

Saturday morning I went on a bike ride. I took the back road from Fillmore to Holden and back (about 20 miles). I left early enough that no one was out driving on the backroad so it was nice and quiet. The mountains were beautiful and it was gorgeous and very refreshing,
I'm glad I did it.
After the bike ride Kyle and I headed up the canyon on a four-wheeler ride. Weston stayed with grandma, grandpa, and aunt Amy and got spoiled rotten of course:) We saw two Elk and later we went fishing and I actually caught one! AMAZING.... someone take a picture. Oh wait, I did take a picture.:)

We fished for quite a while because Kyle had to catch one too. Who is going to let their wife catch a fish and not catch one themselves? Well, he finally caught one. Who knows, it might have been the same poor little fish. We let the little guy go free though.

More fishing.

They canyon was beautiful.

We also went shooting. Honestly I DON'T LIKE shooting a gun, BUT I didn't want to be a pansy and I'm stubborn so I shot it a few times at a water bottle and called it good.

Back at the house we had tacos and hung out in the backyard. Weston loved the dog. I almost thought he'd start crawling he wanted to get close to her so badly! Looks like it won't be long.

What a cutie.

I always think of you on your birthday. I am not sure why I remember it so easily. Maybe because it's close to Em's. P.s. I hate shooting guns too!
