Sister Time!

We spent all of last week in Arizona visiting my sister and her two adorable kids. I know Wes was so happy to have someone to play with every single day. My other sister came too with her little girl so it was fun to all spend time together.

It was Weston's first plane ride. I think I was overly nervous about taking him on a plane. I thought he would get a little anxious confined to sitting on my lap the whole time, but he actually did really well.  He kept saying "TRUCK, TRUCK...WOAAH" although I tried to teach him we weren't on a truck we were on an airplane. He still thought it was cool.

Here we are just before take off. He had a sucker so he was all good:)

Once we got to Arizona we did all sorts of fun things.
We went to the zoo.

 Hung out at the park.
Smashed water balloons out on the deck and played outside.

Played with babies Claire and Avery.

And other events that were not documented with photos.... just hung out and talked, played egyptian rat-killer, ate lots of yummy food, went to a really cool ghost-town, went to the mall, did a couple crafts, just relaxed, watched a movie, and cooked yummy dinners.
It was so fun to spend a week with my sisters.

Little guy update

Weston is almost 22 months and has changed so much over the past couple months. He loves to play with his trucks, run around the house with his dinosaurs yelling "roooooar!", jump up and down, climb all over the furniture, read books, especially nursery rhymes, and carry his teddy bear around. Weston's language is coming along slowly but surely. He just began to say two word phrases like "up-down!", "my turn", "hi mom", "hi dad", "thank you" and "neat truck!" He still loves his "nacks" (snacks) and loves to eat any kind of meat, especially hotdogs and sausage, but not a fan of milk. (unless it has chocolate in it of course:)

Sharing seems to be difficult for him right now, but he is learning. He loves to run, and is pretty fearless, and a little clumsy (not really a good combination.) Sitting in one spot for more than a minute is not his thing, he is an active little guy. Weston definitely learns by watching, he loves to just watch other kids and people wherever we go. He is shy around strangers at first, but pretty wild around us:)

I love being Weston's mom. It is challenging at times. Sometimes I feel like I'm living with caveman or a foreign exchange student 24/7.  It's frustrating when he is still learning to communicate and at times I don't understand what he wants or is trying to tell me. I have learned that I am not very patient and I have to just take a breath when he throws fits or fights me with something. I know he is learning to be independent and I'm trying my best to help him learn and grow, and discipline him at the same time. He is such a great kid though, I couldn't ask for a better boy. I love him so much.
