The latest

I'm about ready to pull my hair out and say the heck with this kitchen. It feels like it will never be fully finished.  Kyle and I have agreed upon a 'new' or 'built house' as our next home purchase. No more of this fixer upper business. Thinking about the yard as our next project is nothing short of daunting. And apparently '7-10 days' for countertops to arrive actually means '16-20' days'. Ugh. Don't get me started.

On a positive note, I got a new calling...WARD MISSIONARY! I've been wanting this calling for well, about 7 years now. When bishop called me in I was nervous it would be something in the Relief Society. You should have seen the relief and cheesy grin on my face when he said ward missionary. The fun part is that my companion is a native spanish speaker and goes out with the spanish speaking missionaries a ton. I guess I better brush up on my espanol.

I am taking a lap swim class at our local rec center.  It kicks my bum. It is uncomfortably hard and I've realized I am definitely  a land sport girl. I've always wanted to learn how to swim better though, so here I am, waking up at 5:30 a.m. to swim laps Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday morning before the spouse and offspring awaken.  Who's idea was this??  My swim teacher is brutally honest and kind of mean (but in a good way), and well, a little different. She flat out told me my body is not really built for a swimmer.  Ummmm..... what is that suppose to mean? Is that a compliment? That's not very encouraging now is it.  She has corrected my stroke and helped me a lot though so it's starting to get a little easier. I'm only the third worse in the class now:)

Weston is busy lately and keeps me on my toes. I love him so much. Most of the time he is nothing but a darling angel but he sure knows how to be ornery too. He has learned how to throw a tantrum lately when he doesn't get what he wants. Could this be the terrible two's arriving almost 8 months early? He still isn't saying too many words, although he knows a few signs and can say dad, mom, dog, dall (ball), and uh! (uh oh). For everything else he just points and grunts, or whines. He is beyond excited about dogs. He is so handsome and cute and just full of personality. I have been taking him to story/play time at our library and he loves it.

Kyle went hunting this past weekend. He likes to shoot animals. It's beyond me...

I'm playing on an indoor and outdoor soccer team! I'm glad my husband loves me enough to let me do both, cuz it's kinda pricey to do both:) But I really love playing, so thank you sweet husband.

I am making Vegan Macaroni and Cheese for dinner tomorrow. Yeah, we'll see how that turns out.

Next weekend we are going to Logan for my neice's blessing. The weekend after we are going to St. George and on a hike or two in Zion National Park. Hopefully the weather cooperates. I can't wait to get out hiking.

And...that's the latest!

Service

I saw this video on a friends blog and it made me cry. I think it's rare to find young men like this is the world today. It made me understand even more the importance of the gospel and teaching our children and youth how to love others, how to serve, and how to be selfless. I can only hope I'm a good enough mother and example so that my children grow up to be as this young boy with that kind of heart and spirit.
