I might just die...

Cuz I signed up to do one of these babies!
I've never done one and I just thought I might like it, so here goes nothing! It's a sprint distance so I figured I could manage. I've been running a lot and biking, but I have only been to the pool, um, once to train for the swim portion. Yeah, I better get on that... Luckily the race is in a pool, not a lake, or I may be the next drowning victim in that case. Anyhoo, it's on August 7th and I'm kinda really excited about it:)

Bear Lake

We went up to Bear Lake this past weekend. It was nice to get away and Bear Lake was beautiful as usual. Saturday morning was a little stormy but it warmed up quickly and was a perfect day. Wes wasn't so sure at first about the beach and water.

Once he started playing in the sand, he thought it was the greatest thing ever.

The Hottie.

Weston and Kyle.

The Fam.

Back at the cabin.
Weston has learned how to hold himself up on furniture and that is all he wants to do now:)

Later we drove up the mountains as far as we possibly could to get a good view of the Lake. Weston slept in the car the entire time so he didn't get to see it.

I was a little scared up there on the edge.

A Fun Weekend

This past Friday was my birthday. I'm 28 years old now. If I am doing the math correctly that's only 2 years away from the big 3-0. YIKES. I'll try not to think about that. Instead I will focus on the fun weekend I had and the fact that I'm still young enough to do all these fun things. We spent the weekend in Fillmore. We were planning on going
there on the weekend of the 4th but Weston came down pretty sick so we ended up staying home. Kyle and I were sad we missed out on the fun and four-wheeling so we made the trip down on Friday. Kyle brought me these beautiful flowers when he came home from work.
On the way to Fillmore we stopped at my favorite restaurant, Red
Robin and I ordered my favorite, the barbeque chicken wrap. I order the same thing every time despite Kyle's criticism that I'm boring and need to try something new. But why? It's the BEST dish ever...and those fries are to die for. Mmmmmm. .

Well folks, my sister in-law has far exeeded my cooking abilities and made this pretty awesome cake. She knows how much I love fruit so she made one with about every single fruit you can imagine on top. YUM!!

Saturday morning I went on a bike ride. I took the back road from Fillmore to Holden and back (about 20 miles). I left early enough that no one was out driving on the backroad so it was nice and quiet. The mountains were beautiful and it was gorgeous and very refreshing,
I'm glad I did it.
After the bike ride Kyle and I headed up the canyon on a four-wheeler ride. Weston stayed with grandma, grandpa, and aunt Amy and got spoiled rotten of course:) We saw two Elk and later we went fishing and I actually caught one! AMAZING.... someone take a picture. Oh wait, I did take a picture.:)

We fished for quite a while because Kyle had to catch one too. Who is going to let their wife catch a fish and not catch one themselves? Well, he finally caught one. Who knows, it might have been the same poor little fish. We let the little guy go free though.

More fishing.

They canyon was beautiful.

We also went shooting. Honestly I DON'T LIKE shooting a gun, BUT I didn't want to be a pansy and I'm stubborn so I shot it a few times at a water bottle and called it good.

Back at the house we had tacos and hung out in the backyard. Weston loved the dog. I almost thought he'd start crawling he wanted to get close to her so badly! Looks like it won't be long.

What a cutie.

Half a Year!

* 17 lbs (50%) and 29 inches(99%) Yep, we got a giant on our hands, he is so tall:)
*rolls over both ways.
*has mastered sitting up by himself.
*can hold himself up on all fours and rock back and forth, but no crawling yet.
*still loves to stand and hold on to furniture with my help. Kyle and I joke that he is going to just skip crawling and go straight to walking!
*has tried rice cereal. hated it and refused to eat it for a while there until I mixed fruit in it, he didn't mind it.
*seems to like carrot baby food the most but still not very good with the solids.
*just getting over 'hand, foot, and mouth virus'. he's feeling MUCH better.
* he prefers to sleep on his tummy now.
*does this cute lip curl thing.
*has learned to 'fake cough' (oh boy:)
*takes three naps a day
*has a permanent drool drip coming off his chin.
*was sleeping ten hours straight, but not since he's been sick:) hopefully he'll get back to that.
*favorite thing to play with is the baby wipe dispenser, and his fluffy soccer ball....and my nose.
*starting to giggle more and is very tickelish.
*sometimes starts to freak out when I leave the room.
*hates getting lotion put on.
*is now taking his baths sitting in the tub. he loves it.
*is happy and smiley and very photogenic.

here are some more pics!

Here he is on the 4th of July. He was feeling so sick, poor Wes, but I managed to get a smile out of him for the picture:)

He thinks it's so neat to sit in his crib now:) We are going to have to lower that thing soon before he is able to pull himself out!

Messy. How did the food manage to get up by his eye?
His open mouth smile. I love it.

Happy six months Weston!
